Freepoc’s privacy policy
This privacy policy describes how Freepoc (“us” or “we”) protects your (“you”, “the user”) privacy and your data. Before using any of our Freepoc applications, please read this policy.
If you use one of our applications you fully agree to this privacy policy.
Scope
This privacy policy applies equally to our apps written for Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android, Wear OS, Epoc32 and others. A full list of the apps covered by this privacy policy is available here.
General
Most of our applications are designed to work completely offline. None of our applications require the user to set up an account nor to supply credentials to login. However for a minority of our apps you, as the user, can choose to link with Google (to save data to your own Google account) or with Dropbox (to backup your data to your own Dropbox account). This ability is disabled by default and only enabled with your explicit permission.
Our personal finance apps may connect to the internet for the purposes of downloading stock prices and FX rates. This is done anonymously (ie. no login or user credentials required) and only when requested by the user. However you may separately need to apply for a free API key to access those data sources.
Data
We do not ask for personal data such as names, addresses, emails, phone numbers in any of our apps. For our apps that record fitness information, you can optionally specify your age and height for calibration purposes. That information remains on your device and Freepoc has no access to it. We do not share personal data with any third party. We do not serve advertisements.
For data that are stored locally in our apps, for example in our personal finance and fitness apps, we provide an option to delete such data. More information about how users can delete their data is provided here.
Location Services
For our apps that use location services (for example to show the distance you have run) these data remain on your device unless you, the user, explicitly choose to upload to your own account with a recognised fitness service (for example Google Fit, Strava, Garmin). Such options are disabled by default. We provide an option to delete such data which are stored locally in our apps. We also provide options to delete data which have been uploaded to other services.
In certain apps you can choose to share your location, for example with a family member. This feature is not enabled by default, it is only enabled if the user explicitly requests to do so and only while the app is in use.
Fitness / Health Information
For our apps that record fitness / health information (for example your heart rate during exercise) these data remain on your device unless you, the user, explicitly choose to upload to your own account with a recognised fitness service (for example Google Fit, Strava, Garmin). Such options are disabled by default. We provide an option to delete such data which are stored locally in our apps. We also provide options to delete data which have been uploaded to other services.
Our locally-stored fitness data are not encrypted, but they are held in a secure sandbox which is only accessible from within our app. You may however choose to export your data to standard file types, for example to a comma-separated values (CSV) file, a GPS Exchange (GPX) file or a Training Center XML (TCX) file. These files can then be used to visualise your data in other services.
Health Connect
Health Connect on Android phones allows the interchange of fitness and health information between various third-party apps. We do not read or otherwise access any data from Health Connect. However you can choose to write data recorded in some of our apps to Health Connect which can then be accessed by other third-party fitness apps to which you have granted permission. No data from our apps are written to Health Connect unless you, as the user, make an explicit choice to do so. Such data can be deleted subsequently as needed.
Our use of Health Connect fully adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes
Our applications or parts thereof may change or be updated at any time. Such changes will be posted on our website and updated applications will be made available to download, also from our website.
