Readme file for My Spending
===========================

My Spending (formerly known as Transaction) is an application for your Android phone and your WearOS device. Install My Spending on your Android phone and then see here to install the app on your watch: http://www.freepoc.org/wearos-apps.

My Spending enables you to speak to your watch to record a transaction which is then sent to JabpLite4 as a notification and automatically imported.

Open My Spending on your watch. When prompted to speak, say your transaction in the format: Account, Description, Amount, Reference (optional). If you omit the Account, My Spending will default to your most recently-used account. For example, say:

"Barclaycard Waitrose 45 67"

The above will create a pending transaction for the Barclaycard account, description is Waitrose, amount is 45.67. Alternatively, say:

"Waitrose 45 67"

The above will create a pending transaction in your last-used account, also for Waitrose, also amount 45.67. Note that amounts can either have a space separating pounds and pence, or not. So 4567 and 45 67 will both be accepted as 45.67.

Once you accept the spoken text on your watch, you'll see a message "Sent to phone". Now the next time you open JabpLite4, this pending transaction is imported into the application. If JabpLite3 finds a match for this description to a previous transaction, it will use the appropriate category, otherwise the category will be set to "None" (you can edit it afterwards).

** Conversion strings **

Suppose your spoken transaction is always mis-transcribed by Google. For example, you want "Nikki's Cafe" but Google always gives you "Nickys Cafe". You can fix this by using a conversion string in the My Spending phone app. The format is: old string, vertical line separator, new string. For example:

Nickys Cafe|Nikki's Cafe

You can enter one or more such conversion strings, each on a new line, on the My Spending home screen. Press Save to save them.

I hope you enjoy using the My Spending application.
