GlucoMon by Ian Chapple

GlucoMon is intended to help diabetics monitor their blood-sugar levels. Readings can be analysed or plotted on a graph; the actual readings, the maximum and minimum values, the 'ideal' values and the running average are all plotted, which may give an interesting insight into how a diabetic has been managing their blood-sugars.

One useful feature is that readings can be stored on a month-by-month basis, so that, for example, each GlucoMon file only contains readings for a single month. Files can be combined, so that the readings for ie. a whole year can be analysed.

GlucoMon has two separate search features. The first is a text search; this only searches the comments field, but does support Boolean searching for improved accuracy. The second allows a specific value to be entered, which is then compared to the stored readings until a match is found. It is also possible to jump to a specific date, which is useful when a file contains a lot of data.

Files can be exported in one of three formats; text, CSV and HTML. The CSV format enables GlucoMon data to be imported into a database or spreadsheet. There is also a backup feature; all GlucMon data is backed up to a specific disk, this being specified in Preferences.

Languages

GlucoMon currently supports the following languages: Afrikaans, Czech, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portugese, Romanian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.

Supported Computers

GlucoMon was initially designed to only run on a Series 7/netBook/mBook/7Book, as the graphing function works better with a large, colour screen. However, it has now been modified to run on a Series 5, 5mx and MC128. Reports indicate that GlucoMon is also useable on a Revo/Mako, although this has not been verified by the author.
